We're Melting

Things are melting here now and not in a witch from the wizard of oz kind of way! I've been to the weekly village market this morning and obligatory coffee in the cafe with the ladies and the weather is really quite nice. Mild and sunny with no breeze :)

Some of the seeds I started off a few days ago have started to sprout which is great and hopefully this milder weather will continue, then all we have to worry about is the amount of water that invariably ends up lying on the garden making the earth too wet to work. Last year we had to dig run off channels for the worst areas and planned to put extra drainage in just never got the time to do it.

It will be nice to see some signs of spring coming at last although the winters here aren't really that long. I did hope to have lots of daffodils and tulips this year but Charlotte the pig put paid to that when she decided to root them up and eat them lol. All of the pigs are doing great and eating well. The piglets have decided to try and demolish their sleeping area so we had to repair it yesterday. They're being weaned off the heat lamp too as the weather warms up and hopefully soon they'll be getting  a new house with outside space to explore.

Well I'm off to get the horses out as they're going stir crazy being stuck in and will enjoy leaping about and stretching their legs, not so sure I'll enjoy it when I'm on the other end of a rope with a 500 kilo animal jumping around like a nutter but it has to be done!
