Busy Times Ahead

Well it looks like this year could be quite productive. Hubby has a few jobs coming in now that the weather is improving and there will soon be loads to do in the garden. After the inactivity of the winter I'm quite looking forward to getting out there and turning the garden into a flourishing (hopefully) vegetable plot again.

Fresh, warm air on the skin, a suntan developing as you work and long, light nights with a good barbecue and possibly a beer or 2 is something we're all waiting for. Having all of the windows in the house open, hearing the crickets chirping and bull frogs calling is all part of summer here and we love it.

Unfortunately we've still got a little way to go until summer and we're forecast for colder weather and more snow over the next week, looks like Baba Marta isn't too happy this year and is going to throw her weight around for a while longer!

  1. Hi there,

I'm Michael, from the forum where I asked if anyone felt their blog was under-read. I'm in the same boat as you are, only I'm from Hong Kong, and now am studying in the UK, although, I was raised speaking both Chinese and English.

It must be so fascinating to live in Bulgaria. I hope you're managing to live there alright. I just clicked on the links you have on your sidebar to help with Bulgarian, and it seems hard! Whatever made you choose to go there?

  2. Hi Michael and thanks for taking the time to read my blog and comment. How are you finding the UK?

We chose Bulgaria because the countryside is beautiful, the people are friendly, property and land are cheap to buy therefore we could be mortgage free and live a simpler life without some of the pressures we faced in the UK.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the UK is a bad place to live, more that we were looking for a new direction and challenge - Bulgaria has provided this. By far the most challenging part has been the language and I'm still trying to get to grips with it and feel like I'm failing. Hopefully that will change with time though.

  3. Ah, I understand that completely. Living in Canterbury right now brings the same feeling of relaxation and relief from the busy city life in Hong Kong.
